A paper about the first Aramaic inscription uncovered in historic Sophene (Ծոփք), modern Tunceli province in Turkey.

The funerary stone mentions a name starting with Mithrab- possibly the king Mithrobarzanes of Sophene. Also it refers to house of Arwand (Oront) and another name possibly pronounced as Arzaha.
Whatever was the real meaning of this inscription, it is the first hard testimony that the rulers of Sophene were considering themselves affiliated to Orontid dynasty. Orontids also ruled Armenia and Commagene in antique period.
